There Abia State University, Uturu may increase the tuition fees payable by students in the university.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Onyemachi Ogbulu, made this known on Tuesday during the school’s pre-convocation press Briefing, stating that ABSU students paid the lowest tuition fees between N47,000 and N120, 000 per session, whereas other universities pay as much as N3m, especially  for such courses as Medicine and Law.
“ABSU fees are almost free and were set over 12 to 15 years ago. Unless someone says, pay N45,000, and take N1m as subsidy, we have  to adjust our school fees,” the VC added.
According to Ogbulu, a total of 5,712 students with First Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree and Doctorate Degrees will graduate at the combined 27th and 29th ceremony, while three awardees to will be honoured and three professors decorated as Professors Emeritus.

To shore up the school’s revenue, he said the management had formed a committee on the introduction of new courses, among other strategies.
