Why you love Dutch TV and you don’t even know it!
Casino777.nl has researched the Dutch TV programs that became an international success. Do The Voice, Big Brother or Deal or No Deal ring any bells? These TV shows and many more have all originated from the same place: The Netherlands. Even though the US and the UK tend to steal the headlines when it comes to popular TV content, the Netherlands has long been a hotbed of creative talent.
Table 1: The most successful Dutch TV exports
Countries where Dutch TV Exports have been aired
Figure 1: Countries where Dutch TV Exports have been aired
The Voice – First shown in The Netherlands in 2010, the singing show is now available in 64 countries. In fact it has been running for 22 seasons in the US, 12 in Ukraine, and 11 in France.
Big Brother – Since 1999, the show has been watched by more than 600 million viewers across 57 countries, including the US, the UK, India, Australia and Brazil. In the UK alone, Big Brother accounted for 23% of Channel 4’s £664 million revenue in 2007.
Deal or No Deal – From its original name Miljoenenjacht (Hunt/Chase for Millions), the UK version has become the most popular worldwide in 2022 with 13 seasons on Channel 4. The US, Australia and Bulgaria have also aired the show for over a decade (11 years).
Fear Factor – Joe Rogan’s version of the TV show may be seen as the most popular one yet, however, more seasons have aired in India: nine compared to seven in the US . The fear-inducing game show has been exported to 26 countries since its launch in 2001.
The Bus – One of the less talked about shows in the list, yet the luxury bus show has been spinned off in several European countries (Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia) and South America (Brazil).
Dating in the Dark – This rather atypical concept that features contestants trying to find love in a pitch black environment has had international exposure across four continents, namely Europe (UK), North America (US), South America (Brazil) and Oceania (Australia).
What are the longest running shows?
German participants of Big Brother 5 and 6 were getting pretty cosy and enjoyed a stay in TV’s most famous house for one year. Audiences and cast alike were also captivated in the Philippines with three of their seasons being almost a year long.
But this trend is not consistent across all countries where some seasons were abruptly cut short, like Spain’s Big Brother spin-off’s Sálvame Okupa which lasted precisely one working week.
Fun facts you never knew about Dutch TV exports
It is well known that reality TV shows don’t come without their controversies. Entertaining millions of viewers around the world often requires a lot of on screen drama, yet there is also a lot going on behind the scenes that the producers cannot necessarily control. Here are some unbelievable facts about Endemol’s biggest shows:

Today, British competitive gaming culture brand EXCEL ESPORTS is excited to announce the launch of its female VALORANT roster. EXCEL have signed former N1MP lineup Cornelia ‘Neli’ Johansson, India ‘cataLina’ Dubourg, Safaa ‘Purii’ Baydi, and Camille ‘Luzia’ Millet to its female esports VALORANT team along with previous teammate Samantha “Samsi” Caddell and Daniela ‘Jupi’ Gradl, who will round out the roster.
The announcement marks the beginning of EXCEL’s’ journey into VCT Game Changers with the hope to empower and inspire the next generation of women in esports. Already a strong competitive unit, the players of N1MP are close friends in real life which will allow for a higher level of teamwork and communication. The addition of ‘Samsi’ to the team will bring the roster to the next level with their experience of playing at a high level. The former N1MP roster has experience in the VCT Game Changers EMEA Series 3 and came top 5 in the Medusa Series which new teammate Samsi won. The team will be supported by EXCEL ESPORTS Team Manager Kevin ‘Noizeeh’ Jaskiewicz.
THE EXCEL VALORANT GAME CHANGERS ROSTER FOR 2022:
VCT Game Changers was a pioneering initiative announced in 2021 to create more opportunities and exposure for women and marginalised genders in VALORANT esports. The recent VCT Game Changers Championship Finals was the most viewed female VALORANT tournament ever with a peak viewership of over 230,000. With this success, Riot Games recently announced the format for VCT Game Changers EMEA going forward into 2023 which includes academy, amateur and contenders competitions that will form the basis of the VCT Game Changers ecosystem.
Tim Reichert, Chief Operating Officer, EXCEL ESPORTS, commented: “Over the course of the Game Changers Championships, we have seen so many inspiring stories that female players across the world could identify with. At EXCEL, we want to offer something new to show young female players a path into esports and believe through signing an existing squad who work well together competitively and socially, we could help and support them to being the best they could be. We hope that this will encourage more female gamers to get into esports and our success will come from our dedication to developing the scene”
EXCEL ESPORTS VALORANT Team Manager, Kevin ‘Noizeeh’ Jaskiewicz commented: “This is an amazing opportunity for EXCEL and the players involved. We have dedicated a lot of time to work on a roster that could bring EXCEL’s values to female VALORANT esports. We’re investing heavily in our players and are forming the infrastructure around what works best for them because we’re confident in their potential to dominate the competition.”
Pete Jeavons, Marketing Communications Director at EE commented: “EE is proud to be the lead partner of EXCEL’s Game Changers team, EXCEL’s first ever elite female team. This is the first step in working towards our partnership ambitions with EXCEL, enhancing opportunities and access for female gamers across the industry.”

Provider’s new release features a unique Bonus Game with boosters
Playson, the fast-growing digital entertainment supplier, has released Hit the Bank: Hold and Win, a classic gangster-themed slot with a modern twist to its gameplay.
This 5×4, 40-line game transports players back to 1930s Chicago when the Mafia ruled the roost. Paying homage to the mobster scene, four charismatic gangsters are the top paying symbols on this slot, and the Golden Safe symbol acts as the Wild.
Three, four or five Bank symbols triggers the Bonus Game powered by the popular Hold and Win mechanic. Players receive a set number of coins depending on the number of Bank symbols they previously landed, with the aim of sliding as many of them into the sacks below to gain big prizes.
The coins reveal a value from one to 10 and all Coin symbols slide one cell down with each spin until it hits the bottom. There are unlimited re-spins, meaning the game continues until no coins are left.
On the top row, Bonus Game boosters are revealed that multiply or increase the value of each Coin on the corresponding reel. Values range from one to 100 and Multipliers go from x2 to x50.
This slot’s maximum win totals x20,000 bets and the game is highly volatile due to the Bonus Game boosters. In certain markets, players can buy direct access to the Bonus Game, allowing them to jump straight into the height of the action for 100 bets.
Hit the Bank: Hold and Win demonstrates Playson’s versatility in its content offering, delivering slots that are traditional but bringing them in line with the most modern titles in the iGaming industry.
Nikolay Illiustrov, Head of Games at Playson, said: Hit the Bank: Hold and Win is a great addition to our portfolio and we are really excited to be able to bring this slot to our players.
“The Bonus Game is the main draw of this title, exhibiting a complex yet thrilling way to boost winnings. The high volatility nature of this game will be attractive to players and the distinctive artwork is truly eye-catching.”
