GENESEO – A company that owns a handful of fast food restaurants across the region is pursuing plans to construct an Arby’s in the Genesee Valley Plaza off Route 20A in Geneseo.
According to minutes from the July 12 meeting of the Geneseo Town Planning Board, the Frant Corporation would own and operate the restaurant. The company also operates Arby’s locations in Painted Post, Watkins Glen, Dansville, Canandaigua and Bath, state restaurant inspection records show.
Preliminary plans for the restaurant call for a one-story structure with 40 indoor seats and two drive-thru lanes, according to meeting minutes. Construction of the restaurant would result in a net loss of 78 parking spaces in the plaza’s parking lot.
It’s not clear exactly where the restaurant would be constructed, but an engineer for Frant Corp. told the planning board it would be “as close to Applebee’s as allowed,” minutes show.
A spokesperson for Frant Corporation did not respond to requests for comment by press time Monday.
