2022 has been another hugely successful year of growth in Football Queensland’s digital broadcast reach as more than 820,000 unique viewers tuned in to the FQTV platform.

The FQTV Match Centre launched this year and housed every match streamed by Football Queensland in 2022, including the NPL Queensland, Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL), Australia Cup, Kappa Women’s Super Cup and Finals Series matches across every region.
“Football Queensland was delighted to see such impressive growth across our FQTV platform as our total unique viewers increased by 113% this year, demonstrating the huge level of interest and appetite for Queensland football content,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“There was particularly strong growth in the women’s game in 2022, with viewership of the NPL Women’s competition increasing by 171% and our Kappa Women’s Super Cup recording an incredible 287% growth in viewers as our women’s competitions proved popular amongst local, national and international viewers.
“With the connected football pyramid implemented this year as part of the Future of Football 2020+ competition reforms, we were also extremely excited to expand our regional coverage and bring more live matches to fans statewide as we broadcast all 26 FQPL Grand Finals across each region and a total of 16 Australia Cup and Kappa Women’s Super Cup matches in regional parts of the state.
“Football Queensland’s investment in the live streaming of matches across Queensland is continuing to deliver benefits not only for fans of our game but also for players, coaches, clubs and referees who are provided access to high-quality footage for match analysis and the creation of highlights packages.
“The outstanding growth in digital viewers is also particularly useful for our clubs who are making use of in-game advertising to deliver value for their club sponsors.
“We look forward to continuing our extensive coverage of Football Queensland competitions in 2023 as we bring live, on demand football content to the screens of participants and fans across the state.”
