The free COVID-19 testing site in Centre County is operating at a new location.
It is now located in the parking lot in front of the building at 60 Decibel Road, State College. The Pennsylvania Department of Health clinic is being hosted by Central Intermediate Unit 10 in partnership with Decibel Partners LP, according to the Centre County Government website. AMI Expeditionary Healthcare continues to staff and operate the clinic.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays until July 31, 2023.
The testing site had been at the former Subway building in Bellefonte since the beginning of May.
According to the Department of Health, its current free, public testing sites “are focused on ensuring K-12 students, staff, and families have access to free COVID testing within their communities,” but testing remains open to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is necessary and up to 450 patients can be tested per day.
Several testing options are offered:
• Mid-nasal passage swab PCR testing is open to anyone age 3 or older on a first-come, first-served basis. Turnaround time for PCR test results is two to seven days.
• Antigen point-of care tests are available for anyone 2 and older, with results received on-site.
• The center also distributes at-home COVID-19 antigen tests.
Individuals do not need to have COVID-19 symptoms to be tested. Patients are encouraged to bring a photo identification, but it is not required.
