The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provided step-by-step instructions on how to reinstate your SASSA R350 grant for applicants who wish to resume the process after a change in circumstances or various other reasons.
This comes after the agency wrongly suspended the grants paid to certain public servants, including interns, general workers and others, whose income would not have excluded them from receiving the grant.
Step 1: Visit the SASSA R350 grant website – https://srd.sassa.gov.za
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the homepage until you reach the tab that says “Reinstate my cancelled application”
Step 3: Enter your personal details – ID number and mobile number – and select the “send pin” option.
Step 4: You will receive an SMS with a One Time Pin (OTP) number.
Step 5: Enter the OTP on the site and click verify.
Step 6: You need to provide a reason to reinstate the grant. The options include: “Cancelled in error”; “No longer have income”; “Other.”
Step 7: A message prompt will ask if you are sure you would like to reinstate the grant, to continue with the application click “Yes”
