Sylvia L. Hagenbuch, 76, of State College, joined her husband in Heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Born on December 20, 1945, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Paul Gordon and Velda Arlene (Fink) Price. On November 18, 1965, in Port Matilda, she married the love of her life, Glenn A. Hagenbuch, Sr, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2005.
Sylvia graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1963. After high school, she worked for MuRata Erie as a lead operator in the cleanroom for over 30 years before becoming an Assistant Manager at Wal-Mart. She spent over 23 years at Wal-Mart prior to her retirement.
Sylvia was a strong woman with a big heart. She loved her career at Wal-Mart, but enjoyed her retirement spent watching her great grandchildren. She found a love for reading, especially books that related to Christmas or the Amish Community. She enjoyed completing word search puzzles. She loved cardinals, watching them, collecting items with cardinals on it, and eating her strawberries. Some say she was stubborn but she just knew what she wanted and how things should be done, the “Price way”. She was fierce, loyal, and loving. She was extremely proud of her family and acted as the family rock. Her husband was the comedian of the family, she was the responsible one. She will forever be loved and missed.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Thedy S. Hagenbuch of State College; her son, Glenn A. Hagenbuch, Jr of State College; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Hagenbuch, Katrina Hagenbuch, and Shade Hagenbuch; two step grandchildren, Dominic Mazzotta and Danica Mazzotta; and two great grandchildren, Anabelle Bailey and Hudson Bailey. She is also survived by one sister, Cleo Tomco and her husband, Paul, of Bellefonte; her sister in-law, Karyl Price of Tyrone; her brother in-law, Marlin Shultzaberger of Tyrone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Price and Paul Price and sisters, Madeline “Rochelle” Szijarto and Shelby Shultzaberger.
