WEST JORDAN, Utah – A West Jordan man barricaded himself inside his home Tuesday morning after he reportedly pressed a crowbar against a woman and tried to strangle her.
Lt. James Kangas with the West Jordan Police Department said reports about a screaming woman came in around 4 a.m.
It happened near 1600 West and 8700 South.
The suspect wouldn’t come out of the trailer when police arrived.
Officers called in SWAT because the man had a criminal record but the suspect surrendered peacefully shortly after SWAT showed up.
Right now, heavy police presence in West Jordan.
According to scanners, a call came into 911 reporting a female screaming.

Police took him into custody.
Kangas said two children were also inside the trailer. He did knot say if the children were injured.
The woman refused to go to the hospital.
The suspect faces a second-degree felony aggravated assault charge Kangas said.
