Doha: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced at a gala dinner, held at Al Wadi Hotel Doha during the Doha Smart City Expo 2022 yesterday, the winners of the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021, honouring companies and entrepreneurs for their valuable contribution to the growth and development of the digital sector in Qatar.
After the awards were postponed due to COVID-19, this edition recognized the top ten award winners and honoured 33 small and medium enterprises and startups that have qualified for the finals in various categories for their innovative work between 2019 and 2021.
The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of Minister of Communications and Information Technology H E Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai.
The awards included 10 categories: ICT Service Provider of the Year, Systems Integrator of the Year, Mobile App of the Year, Cloud Solution of the Year, Digital Startup of the Year, Smart Solution of the Year, SME Digital Transformation of the Year, E-Commerce Solution of the Year, Innovative FinTech Solution of the Year, and Most Valuable Innovation Response to COVID-19.
A total of 189 nominations were submitted for this year’s awards, including companies and public and private sectors institutions. The applications were reviewed by a specialized panel of experts, academics, and government officials.
On this occasion, H E Reem Al Mansouri Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Society Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, stated: “The pandemic has shown the world and Qatar that digital transformation is not only an ordinary service but an urgent necessity. These difficult times helped in showing the best of the candidates in this year’s edition, as they manifested dedication and determination overcoming all challenges and delivering important innovations. Participating companies contributing to the growth of the digital sector in Qatar has also demonstrated ingenuity and high capabilities in providing required services for the benefit of the public and private sectors as well as a society during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, in our celebration, we honor their creativity, ambition, and adaptability in response to changing circumstances, therefore, providing higher levels of benefits to society and companies alike.”
The winners of the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021 are App Lab, Advancya Technologies, Sajdah, Meeza, Redlogik Solutions, Matar – Hamad International Airport, Ostrichess Branding & Marketing, Fatora, C-Wallet and Meddy.
